How to use the Password Generator
-
Choose length
Enter a number in Length (recommended 16–24 for a strong password). Longer = harder to crack. -
Select character sets
Tick the boxes for Uppercase, Lowercase, Numbers, and Symbols. For a secure password, keep all four enabled. -
Generate
Click Generate. A random password appears in the result box. It’s created locally in your browser for privacy. -
Copy
Click Copy to place the password on your clipboard, then paste it into your account or password manager. -
Repeat if needed
Not happy with the pattern? Click Generate again to get a new strong password instantly.
Quick recipes
- General accounts: Length 16–20, all character types on.
- Banking / email: Length 20–24, all types on, avoid reusing anywhere else.
- Sites that forbid symbols: Length 20+, disable Symbols, keep letters + numbers.
Best practices
- Use a unique password for every site.
- Store it in a password manager instead of notes or email.
- If a site limits length, use the maximum allowed and keep all types enabled.
Troubleshooting
- “Password won’t accept” — Some sites block certain symbols. Regenerate with Symbols off or try a smaller set of characters.
- “Too short/long” — Match the site’s length rules; set the exact number in Length and generate again.
- “Can’t paste” — Some apps block paste. Reveal the password field if possible and type it once, then update the app to allow paste.
Tip: A long random password with mixed characters is stronger than a short one. Regenerate until you’re satisfied, then save it securely.
