How to use the Salary Calculator

  1. Enter your gross annual salary
Type your total before-tax pay in Gross annual salary (e.g., 50000).
Tip: If you know your monthly pay, multiply by 12. If weekly, multiply by 52.
  2. Select your country
Choose the country that applies to you. The calculator loads the right tax bands and payroll rules.
If your country has states/regions, pick one in the next step.
  3. Pick region/state (if shown)
Some places add local tax. Select the correct region so the estimate includes it.
  4. Choose pay frequency
Select Monthly, Weekly, or Fortnightly to see the net pay per period. You’ll also see totals per year for easy comparison.
  5. (Optional) Add pre-tax pension/retirement %
Enter a percentage if you contribute before tax (e.g., 5 for 5%). This lowers taxable income and may reduce payroll taxes depending on country rules.
  6. (Optional) Set currency symbol
The tool picks a default (like £/$/€). You can override it (e.g., type £ or $).
  7. Calculate
Click Calculate. Your take-home pay per period and annual net pay appear at the top.
